8 ml Liquid Feeder

Ensure your small inhabitants receive consistent nourishment with the 8 ml Liquid Feeder Set! This functional add-on provides a clean, controlled method for dispensing water, nectar, or liquid food supplements. The design is modular, requiring assembly with a standard glass vial and a small feeding sponge (materials not included).

The printed holder requires small supports inside the sponge insert to ensure dimensional accuracy. This is a practical, water-safe print suitable for FDM or Resin, perfect for spider enclosures, ant farms, and small reptile vivariums.

Recommended Settings

⚙️ Recommended Print Settings

This is a structural component that will bear weight. Strength and durability in humidity are the priorities.

FDM/Filament Settings (Recommended for Structure & Size)

  • Material: PETG or ABS/ASA is highly recommended due to frequent exposure to water and high humidity.

  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm.

  • Infill Density: 15%.

  • Wall/Perimeter Count: 3.

  • Supports (CRITICAL): Small supports are REQUIRED inside the insert part where the sponge is added. This prevents warping and ensures the opening is dimensionally accurate.

SLA/Resin Settings (Recommended for Detail)

  • Material: Standard UV Resin.

  • Layer Height: 0.05 mm or finer.

  • Supports (CRITICAL): Small supports are REQUIRED inside the sponge insert to ensure the dimensional accuracy of the opening.

  • Preparation: No hollowing or drainage holes needed.

Important: Always thoroughly clean your final print before placing it in any animal habitat. Dimensional accuracy is key for a functional fit.

Assembly & Installation

🛠️ Preparation & Post-Processing Steps

This feeder is a modular product that requires external components to complete its function.

Assembly

  1. Preparation: Print all holder components. Carefully remove supports from the sponge insert opening. Wash all printed parts thoroughly.

  2. Vial Installation: Insert the glass vial into the designated holder opening. Glue may be used for a permanent hold if desired.

  3. Sponge Installation: Insert the dry, cut feeding sponge into the designated insert opening. Ensure it fits snugly for proper water wicking.

Cleaning (CRITICAL)

Before introducing the feeder to your habitat, wash all components thoroughly with hot, non-soapy water. A final thorough rinse is mandatory.

📦 Required External Tools

The following materials are required to complete the functional feeder assembly and are not included with the STL files.

  • Glass Vials: Standard 8 ml glass vials are needed to hold the liquid food/water reservoir.

  • Sponges: Small, dense sponges are required to wick the liquid.
