⚙️ Recommended Print Settings
This is a structural component that will bear weight. Strength and durability in humidity are the priorities.
FDM/Filament Settings (Recommended for Structure & Size)
-
Material: PETG or ABS/ASA is strongly recommended for strength and resilience in high-humidity vivariums. Wood-filled filaments can also be used, but may require special sealing.
-
Layer Height: 0.2 mm.
-
Infill Density: 15-20%. Provides the necessary structural strength to bear weight.
-
Wall/Perimeter Count: 3. Ensures structural integrity.
-
Supports: Minimal supports may be required beneath the branch overhangs or where the magnet holes are located.
SLA/Resin Settings (Recommended for Detail)
-
Material: Standard UV Resin (Brown or Wood color).
-
Layer Height: 0.05 mm or finer.
-
Orientation (CRITICAL): Print at an angle to the build plate to manage peel forces and minimize layer visibility across the branches.
-
Supports: Minimal supports may be required for the branch undersides or magnet recesses.
-
Preparation: No hollowing or drainage holes needed.
Important: Always thoroughly clean your final print before placing it in any animal habitat. Ensure magnet recesses are sized correctly for your chosen magnets before printing.
