Build a safe, spacious, and vertically-optimized habitat for your arboreal mantis with the B-V2 Mantis Enclosure Kit! This modular, multi-part kit provides all the structural components needed, featuring excellent top and side ventilation crucial for mantis’ health.

Due to complex shaping and overhang recesses, some parts will require supports. The kit requires Max Strength Construction Adhesive and acrylic glass tubing for final assembly, resulting in a durable, beautiful, and fully customizable environment.

⚙️ Recommended Print Settings

This kit uses several structural components. Dimensional accuracy for assembly and material choice for safety are crucial.

FDM/Filament Settings (Recommended for Structure & Size)

Material: PETG or ABS/ASA is strongly recommended for structural integrity, dimensional stability, and resistance to humidity/moisture.
Layer Height: 0.2 mm.
Infill Density: 20%. Provides necessary structural strength.
Wall/Perimeter Count: 4. Crucial for strong seams for assembly.
Supports: Supports are REQUIRED for parts with internal overhangs or magnet recesses.

SLA/Resin Settings (Recommended for Detail)

Material: ABS-Like UV Resin (ensure structural integrity).
Layer Height: 0.05 mm or finer.

Supports: Supports are REQUIRED for parts with internal overhangs or magnet recesses.

Calibration: Dimensional accuracy is key for component fit.

Important: Dimensional calibration is essential for assembly! A snug fit is required before gluing sections together

Assembly & Installation

🛠️ Preparation & Post-Processing Steps

This product requires multiple mandatory preparation steps in the slicer, assembly with a pump, and a mandatory painting process.

Assembly (Glue Required)

Reference Diagram: Consult the Exploded Diagram in the image gallery for the correct sequence and orientation of all parts. Remember to remove preinstalled support from the glass trim before installing.
Part Joining: Glue all large structural components together (including trims, sponges, caps, & base trim) using Max Strength Construction Adhesive to form the main frame.
Panel Installation: Glue the clear acrylic or polycarbonate panels into their designated slots.

Curing (CRITICAL)

Cure Time: Allow a MANDATORY 48-HOUR CURE TIME in a well-ventilated area to prevent white residue (“fogging”) on the enclosure walls.

Cleaning (CRITICAL)

Before introducing the assembled habitat to animals or plants, wash it thoroughly with hot, non-soapy water. A final thorough rinse is mandatory.

📦 Required External Tools

The following materials are required to complete the functional connection system and are not included with the STL files.

Max Strength Construction Adhesive, Clear: This is the safest, strongest, clearest glue for vivarium use.
Clear Acrylic Tubing 115mm(ID) x 120mm(OD): The height of the pipe can be cut to your preference (Mine are 6in tall). If another diameter pipe is used, remember to size up the STL files to match (I typically will print only the base trim and test fit until I figure out the exact percentage increase and print the rest at that scale).
Clear Acrylic Circle Disc: These are used for the Glass Tops.
Liquid Feeder Slot Sponges: These are used for the Light Tops.
Liquid Feeder: These are the STL files needed for the liquid feeder.
Bantamarium Logo Tag & Holder Set: These are the STL files needed for the front Bantamarium logo.
Bantamarium Port Plug & Plug Cap: These are the STL files needed to close off the side ports on the lid and base.
Bantam Handpicked Preserved Moss: We supply our own selection of natural preserved moss if you want to support our shop!
